Tyler James

Tyler Hudson James, 36, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026.  Tyler was born in Amory on November 20, 1989 to Johnny West and Hollye Moreland West.  Tyler attended Smithville School and worked as a brick mason with Charles and Brandon Steinke.  Tyler enjoyed working on small engines, hunting and fishing, listening to music and whittling.  Tyler adored his nephews and enjoyed making things for them.  Tyler loved his dogs, Zacy and Katie.

Tyler is survived by his mother, Hollye West, Amory; brother, Austin James (Caitlyn), Amory; sister, Brandie Horn, Smithville; aunt, Sherry Reeves (Wayne), Smithville; nieces and nephews, Rylee James, Tynlee James, John Avery James, Easton James, Zaylee Kate James, Christopher, Summer, Sophie; cousins, Brooke Thompson, Walker Thompson, Tori Peloquin (Samuel), Cohen and Canton Peloquin; best friend, Brandon Steinke.

Tyler is preceded in death by his father, Johnny West; brother, Curt James; grandparents, George and Peggy Moreland, Opal Moffett.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Lloyd Minor and Bro. Chad O'Brian officiating.  Burial will be in Young Memorial Garden.  Pallbearers will be Brandon Steinke, Charles Steinke, Anthony Minor, Joe West, Wayne Reeves and Derrick Patrick.  Honorary pallbearers will be Easton James and John Avery James.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5 PM until 7 PM.
