Tommy Burt Sr.

Tommy Burt Sr., age 85, passed away on June 22, 2026, in Amory, Mississippi. Born on November 7, 1940, Tommy was the son of Stacy Burt and Volene Clayton Burt. He was a hardworking and dedicated man whose career was marked by determination and leadership. Tommy was the first production employee hired at True Temper. Through his strong work ethic and commitment, he advanced through the ranks of management before leaving the company in 1979. His career then led him to plant management positions in Senatobia, Mississippi; North Carolina; Birmingham, Alabama; and several facilities throughout Middle Tennessee.

Outside of his work, Tommy found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved quail hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. One of his greatest passions was riding his Gold Wing motorcycle, especially along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. He also treasured the time spent exploring and visiting Tennessee’s beautiful state parks.

In accordance with Tommy’s wishes, flowers are respectfully declined. Memorial donations may be made to the Amory Food Pantry.

Tommy is survived by his son; Tommy Burt Jr. (Lisa) of Becker, Grandchildren; Trey Burt (Kaitlyn) of Becker, Casey Burt of Becker, Great Grandchildren; Jamie Rae Burt and Piper Leigh Burt.

He is proceeded in death by his Mother and Father, Wife; Betty Ruth Moore Burt, Brothers; Johnny Burt, Paul Burt, Sister; Peggy Gray.

A private graveside will be held at a later date for the family.
