Susan Diane Stokes, 73, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 21, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 20, 1952 to George Pernell and Ethel Estelle Horton Rogers in Natural Bridge, Alabama. She attended Belmont High School. Diane would go on to marry the love of her life the late Riley Gene Stokes in 1967 and would remain in wedded bliss until his untimely passing in 2003. Some years later Diane would meet Thomas M. McLennan whom after a time of courting would be joined together in holy matrimony until his passing in 2024. Diane loved her family more than anything else in the world. She endeavored to make sure that her children and grandchildren were cared for and loved. Diane worked the majority of her life as a sewing machine operator working at various factories over the years. She could run any type of sewing machine made and could sew just about anything put in front of her. She also worked as a quality inspector at KD Metals for a number of years. She would conclude her working career before retirement sewing furniture at Winchester in Belmont, Ms. Through her kind nature and hearty work ethic she would create lasting friendships and relationships with many in the community.
Diane leaves to cherish her memory 3 children: Vickie Jaynes(Lance), Chris Stokes(Jennifer) and Jason Stokes(Misty).
Also to cherish her memory is her 9 grandchildren: Courtney Christian, Chelsie Christian, Zack Jaynes (Christi), Brant Stokes(Hannah), Bro. Cainan Stokes, Kayleigh Stokes, Madison Stokes, Miranda Parsons and Dakota Whirley (Lindsay); 11 great-grandchildren: Colton, Ryleigh Belle, AJ, Maddox, Maverix, Caleb, Ashton, Athena, Eden, Arrabella and Grayson; brother, Harold Rogers (Ranae); sister Deborah Lynch; special cousin, Brenda Evans. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She never met a stranger and was loved all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed greatly by all.
She is preceded in death by her brothers: Stanley, Joey, Yogi, Johnny, and Ernie. Her parents and grandparents.
Diane’s Home going will be officiated by Bro. Cainan L. Stokes and Bro. Wayne Bumgart. The Home going service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Fairview Holy Church of Christ in Belmont, Ms with interment at Rogers Family Cemetery.
A visitation will be held at Fairview Holy Church of Christ on Friday, July 25, 2025 and the family will receive friends from 7PM until 9PM.
