Mary Sue Jeffreys Bennett, 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. Born on December 13, 1940 in Alabama, she was a daughter to Bobby and Velma Warren Jeffreys. She married Donald Gene Bennett and was a homemaker for many years. Sue was an accomplished seamstress and an excellent cook. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Sue was a faithful member of Meadowood Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt and Bro. Ed Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Amory Masonic Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Bennett of Tupelo; one son, Don Bennett (Amy) of Saltillo; two daughters, Pam Nerren of Aberdeen and Patty Conard (Ronnie Agunzo) of New York, NY; two sisters, Lavonne Vaughn (Ray Franks) and Linda McCreless (Nicky); 4 grandchildren, Les Nerren (Jill Shelton), Sara Nerren (Robert Brown), Eric Nerren (Caitlin Brooks), and Taylor Bennett; 4 great grandchildren, Caleb Weaver, Gracie Miles, Jeremy Shelton, and Mary Shelton; sisters-in-law, Margarette Bennett (Bobby), Millie Manlove, Pam Jeffreys, and Francis Jeffreys; brother-in-law, Jerry Wayne Bennett and special friends, Mary Ritter and Susan Owens.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Darrell Jeffreys; a sister, Dois Finch; and a brother-in-law, Alfred Finch.
Pallbearers will be Les Nerren, Randy Finch, Jeff Finch, Collins Finch, David Lamb, and Frank McCreless. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Corbell, Eric Nerren and the staff of NMMC Inpatient Hospice.
Special thanks are to be given to the caregivers at Magnolia Manor Assisted Living.
Visitation will be from 1 until 2:45 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
