Steve Colburn, 58, died on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Born on July 12, 1959, he was a son of John Edward and Mable Elaine Morton Colburn. Steve attended Okolona and Amory schools and before becoming disabled, he worked for the City of Amory Street Department. A man with good intentions, Steve was known for his generous heart and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Family was important to him and enjoyed spending time with them. Steve was a member of the Amory First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services for Steve will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Wesley Pepper officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Matthew Colburn of Houston; one brother, Curtis Colburn of the Bigbee Community; two sisters, Debra Coleman (Alan) of Amory and Donna Sanderson (Rick) of Amory; two grandchildren, Blake and Aiden Colburn; close friend, Willie Eggert; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Curtis and Lillie Mae Morton and John and Annie Mae Colburn.
Pallbearers will be Terry Green, Jeff Colburn, Phillip Baulch, Rick Sanderson, Alan Coleman, and Joe Mills. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Taylor, Dale McGhee, Mike Martin, Leo Kennedy, and Scott Montague.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
