Shawn Gore

Shawn Louis Gore, 51, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.  He was born on November 30, 1972 in Alexandria, LA to Louis and Nina Barton Gore.  He graduated high school in Pineville, LA.  On February 14, 2006, he married the former Tammy Bristol and made his home in Monroe County.  He attended Becker Baptist Church.  Shawn had a heart of gold and would give the shirt of his back to help anyone.  Known for his infectious smile, he was also an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.  He enjoyed raising chickens but above all, time spent with his family is what he cherished most.  

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Vance and Bro. Jason Green officiating.  Burial will follow in the Howell Cemetery.

In addition to his wife of 18 years, Tammy Gore, he is survived by two sons, Hunter Taylor (Maggie) of Tuscaloosa and Wyatt Gore of the home; one daughter, Kelsey Taylor of the home; two brothers, Sammy Gore (Jocelyn) and Shane Gore (Nichole); sisters, Sandra Dailey (David) and Earlene Abercrombie (Kenneth); and a host of nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Allison Blackshear; and brother, Ski Gore.

Pallbearers will be Josh Ross, Roger Jones, Cecil Wayne Jones, Bobby Robertson, Tony Shackelford, Jaylon Jernighan, and Roy Gentry.

Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
