Scotty Carter

Scotty Mac Carter, 69, passed away at his residence in Amory on December 23, 2025.  He was born in Amory on May 21, 1956 to Troy Carter and Avis Jefferies Gosa.  Scotty attended Hatley High School and graduated from High School in Memphis.  He married Vicky Chandler on February 14, 1977.  Scotty enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.  He was a member of Bigbee Baptist Church in his younger years.

Scotty is survived by his wife, Vicky Carter, Amory; daughter, Casey Coleman (TJ), Tupelo; son, Jason Cross (Misty), Tupelo; sister, JoAnn Owings (Bobby), Aberdeen; brothers, Terry Carter (Sondra), Amory and Andy Carter (Belinda), Foley, AL; grandchildren, Victoria Cross, Madison Williams (John Dudley), Liza Rae Coleman, Dudley Williams, Theo Williams; great grandson, Jason Wade Irby; special friends, Doug Fowlkes, Steve Fowlkes, David Hodo, Lee Wright, Eddie Wilemon and many others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy Carter and Avis Gosa.

A private service will be held later.
