Samuel Rubel Allen, 49, passed away on Friday, July 3rd at Baptist Hospital in Columbus. Sam was born in Amory on February 22, 1971 to Samuel Marlin and Wanda Jones Allen. He attended Hatley school and married the late Tamera West. For many years he was an over the road truck driver. Sam recently opened Last Chance Stable to pursue a long time love of training and showing racking horses. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and was a die hard Nascar fan. More than anything he enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. Sam was a member of New Vision Worship Center in Nettleton. Sam is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Steele (Calvin), Becker; son, Brandon Allen(Cheyenne Ward), Becker; mother and father, Samuel and Wanda Allen, Amory; brother, Mark Allen (Beth), Amory; grandchildren, Braxton Lee and Payton "Gangster" Steel, Alex, Trent, Hayden, Brayden, Noah, Kayleigh, and Haven Cooper and Jackson; niece and nephews, Ann Marie Vaniman, Michael and Dakota Riggs; special friends, Mary Adair, Amanda Adair and Darius "Pig" Smith. He is preceded in death by his wife and stepson, Earl Cooper. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Allred and Bro. Jesse Strider officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darius Smith, Anthony Pearson, Trent Cooper, Austin Causey, Sam Ball and Tony Head. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5-8 pm. Condolences may be shared online at clevelandmoffettfuneralhome.com.
