Ruth Johnston Mitchell Tubb, 77, died on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her home. She was born on October 27, 1939 in Monroe County to Edgar Wade and Ellie Dee Clayton Johnston. Prior to her retirement, she worked for Glenn Manufacturing and Amory Garment Co. She was a member of the Becker Baptist Church and she enjoyed yard work, flower gardening, and attending flower shows.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Randy Spencer officiating. Burial will be in the Durrett Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Tubb of the Athens Community; 5 sons, Guy T. Mitchell of Florida, Richard Tubb (Wanda) of Hatley, Russell Tubb of Athens, Robert Tubb (Jenny) of Athens, and Randall Tubb of Hamilton; two daughters, Nina Mitchell of Pickwick Lake, MS and Regina Poe of Hamilton; one brother, Richard Johnston (Maggie) of Columbus; 4 sisters, Sara Prout (Will) of Bay Springs Lake, MS, Pat Davis (Jack) of Columbus,Carol Andrews (David) of West Point, MS and Jo Johnston Moore of Tupelo; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Tina Micthell; and one brother, Bennie Wade Johnston.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Cook, Jimmy Cook, David Cook, Richard Johnston, Jr., Mitchell Clark, and Jack Davis.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
