Ricky Boman

Richard Dale "Ricky" Boman, 61, passed away at his residence on July 29, 2026.  Ricky was born in Vernon, Alabama to Sammie and Ruby White Boman.  He was a graduate of Vernon High School and married Sherry McDaniel on September 5, 1986.  Ricky retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation in 2025 with over 33 years service.  He was a talented carpenter and enjoyed building and remodeling.  Ricky also enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, all things Alabama Football and in his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  More than anything he enjoyed cooking for his family and spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored.  Ricky attended Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Vernon in his younger years.

Ricky is survived by his father, Sammie Boman, Vernon; wife, Sherry Boman, Amory; daughter, Collette Jenkins, Amory; brothers, Eldon and Alton Boman, Vernon; grandchildren, Jada Brooke Jenkins and Bayley Jenkins, Amory.

Ricky is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Boman.

Services will be held at a later date.  To honor Ricky's memory, Sherry and Collette ask that memorials be given to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
