Reta Morris Phillips

Reta Colleen Morris Phillips, 65, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at her residence in Smithville.  She was born on November 11, 1958 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Reta had lived in Smithville the last 40 years and married David Phillips in 1982.  She was a homemaker and was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed being with her family more than anything.  Reta also enjoyed planting and tending to flowers, yard sale and selling goods on Ebay.  

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David Phillips, Smithville; daughters, Lisa Petty (C.K.), Hatley, Tracy Brown, Smithville and Angie Phillips; sons, Gary Brown (Athena) of Nettleton and Ira Brown (Elizabeth), Smithville; sisters, Rose Strawhorn, Becker and Joyce Finch, Amory; brothers, Eddie Morris, Fulton and Reggie Morris, Becker; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Reta is preceded in death by her siblings, Steve and Kenny Morris, and infant brother and sister; sisters in law, Linda Morris and Estelle Morris; brother in law, Harold Strawhorn.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
