Phillip Arnold “Buck” Durbin, 86, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at his home in Smithville. He was born on April 12, 1939, in Boonesboro, KY to George and Della Gentry Durbin. He graduated from Clark County High School and briefly attended college before enlisting in the United States Air Force. His career would span 20 years where he served in Japan, Spain, France, and Vietnam during the war. Following his time in the service, he settled in Monroe County and retired from Southern Duofast. He was married to Nora Durbin who preceded him in death, and he was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and classic cars. In addition, he liked horses and buggies, and listening to ‘50’s music. A friend to all, he never met a stranger.

Private family services will be held.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff Durbin, Columbus and Wayne Durbin (Charmain), Smithville; his daughter, Pam Long, OH; one brother, Butch Durbin (Pauline), Winchester, KY; sister, Juanita Abner, Winchester, KY; his grandchildren, Matthew Durbin, Bradley Durbin (Lacie), Liv Long, Brett Bridges (Britney), Jake Bridges (Kimmi); great grandchildren, Kayden and Kayleigh, and Colt, Silas, and Willow Bridges; nieces, Vicki Moore (David) and Shannon Cooper (Andrew); and nephew, Ricky Durbin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Nora T. Durbin.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
