Peggy Ladelle Moreland, 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Courtyards Community Living Center in Fulton. Born on March 19, 1947, in Smithville to Marlon Coleman Frederick and Opal Earline Coker Moffett. Growing up in Smithville, she was a graduate of Smithville High School. She was the widow of George Moreland, and she loved working with flowers and art and crafts. Peggy was a highly talented singer, and was a member of the group, Saved By Grace. She enjoyed traveling the area singing at churches, or any other venue. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family fiercely. Peggy was a member of Cason Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Peggy will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral in Amory with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes and Bro. Scott Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Young Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Hollye West of Becker and Sherry Reeves (Wayne) of Smithville; two sisters, Pam Wallace of Fulton and Glenda Welch (Bruce) of Tupelo; 4 grandchildren, Brooke Thompson, Tyler James, Austin James (Caitlyn), and Tori Peloquin (Samuel); great grandchildren, Rylee James, Tynlee James, John Avery James, Easton James, Walker Thompson, Zaylee Kate James, Cohen Peloquin; and close friend, Peggy Todd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Curt James; brother, Ronnie Frederick; and son-in-law, Johnny West.
Pallbearers will be Austin James, Tyler James, Wayne Reeves, and Samuel Peloquin.
Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 until 7 p.m.
