Patricia Naomi Thompson, 63, died on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Golden Living Nursing Center in Amory. Born on June 2, 1953, she was a daughter of Trenton and Vera Burlison Sullivan. Growing up in Smithville, she attended Smithville schools and she married Benny Thompson in 1970. She worked in the garment plants and prior to her retirement, she worked at Fred’s. She was a member of the Gattman First Baptist Church where she wholeheartedly served as nursery director and children’s Bible class teacher. With a steadfast faith, Pat fought a courageous battle with cancer and was confident in where she was going, always keeping a positive attitude.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Bryan Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Durrett Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Benny Thompson of Quincy; one son, Scott Thompson (Kay) of Hatley; two brothers, Freddie Sullivan (Jenene) of Pontotoc and Billy Sullivan (Diane) of Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Sullivan of Kentucky and Shirley Sullivan of New York; granddaughter, Hannah Thompson of Johannesburg, South Africa; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special friends, Bobby and Ann Price and Bobbi Boover.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Jerry and Johnny Sullivan.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Price, Jerry Hatcher, Justin Hatcher, Brandon Holloway and Josh Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Gattman First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home.
