Patricia "Pat" White

Patricia Ann "Pat" Crowson White, 83, of Amory, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Pat was born on December 10, 1942, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, to James Homer and Daisy Pearl Crowson. She grew up in the Tupelo and Verona area, graduating from Tupelo High School before attending nursing school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

She went on to have a long and dedicated career as a nurse spanning more than 50 years, serving patients in multiple locations throughout north Mississippi, including Gilmore Memorial Hospital, Monroe Regional Hospital, and regional ambulance services. Nursing was more than a profession to her; it was a calling she approached with skill, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those in her care. She earned the deep respect of colleagues throughout the medical community and was known as an exceptional nurse who could be counted on in even the most difficult moments. She treated her patients personally and with dignity, consistently going above and beyond to make sure they received the comfort and attention they needed. That same selflessness and devotion carried into everything she did, but nowhere was it stronger than in the love she gave to those closest to her.

Pat raised her children in Amory, where she spent the majority of her years. A lifelong Christian, her faith was deeply held and guided the way she lived, loved, and served others. She was a fierce and steadfast provider, always working to make sure those she loved were supported and secure. Her loved ones were at the heart of everything she did, and she took great joy in the gatherings, celebrations, and simple moments that brought everyone together.

Christmas and other holidays were particularly meaningful to her and were filled with cherished customs and time spent together. She also treasured traveling with her siblings, including trips to Pigeon Forge and the Grand Ole Opry. Among those relationships, she shared an especially close bond with her sister, Jean, who was not only her sister, but her best friend.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, James Homer and Daisy Pearl Crowson; her brother, James Milton Crowson; her sister, Doris Imogene "Jean" Schumpert; her son, Barry Lavirle White; her son-in-law, Michael Todd Smith; her nephew, Timothy Schumpert; and her former husband and lifelong friend, Dean White.

She is survived by her children, Jenifer Lynn "Jenny" Smith of Amory and James Anthony "Tony" White (Heather) of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren Harley Smith, Ashley Childers (Chad), Hunter White (Shelby), Madison Holley (Colby), Dalton White, and Ryan Bearden (Madison); and eight great-grandchildren, Isabella Childers, Addyson French, Liam Childers, Tristan Childers, Ava Stevenson, Sadie Grace Holly, Shiloh Rye Holley, and Maci Mae Holley.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 10 AM until 12 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12 PM, on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory, Mississippi with Pastor Justin Myers officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oak Forest Cemetery in Pontotoc County, Mississippi.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter White, Dalton White, Ryan Bearden, Mike Williamson, Jason Fikes, Tony Franks. Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Savage, Jeff Matthews, Colby Holley, and Bobby Glynn Matthews.
