Amory- Michael Glenn Flowers, Sr., 73, passed away at his residence in Amory on August 18, 2017. Born August 23, 1943 in Amory, he was a son of the late Jack Flowers, SR. and Olene Ransom Flowers.
A graduate of Smithville High School, Glenn went on to attend Itawamba Junior College, receiving an electrical degree. A true patriot and lover of his country and state, Glenn honorably served in the United States Navy and the Mississippi Army National Guard. He met the love of his life, Annette Knight and they were married August 27, 1965. A master electrician all of his working life, Glenn retired from Kerr-McGee after 17 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, was a Master Mason and member of J A Mayfield Lodge #165 and served on the Amory Masonic Cemetery Committee for 8 years. Above all of his accomplishments in life, Glenn found the most joy in life as being the devoted caretaker of his wife, Annette, for the last 10 years.
He is survived by his wife Annette Knight Flowers, Amory; sons, Mike Flowers, Amory and Keith Flowers (Renee), Iuka; brother, Jack Flowers, Jr. (Barbara), Winona; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Bennett (Ben), Tylertown, MS and Vicky King (Alan), Tupelo; grandchildren, Drew and Hannah Edwards, Rachael, Ashley, Michael and Peyton Flowers; great grandchild, Henley Edwards; aunt, Sara Doty, Houston, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Olene Flowers.
A Graveside Service with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 3 PM in the Amory Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Reeves, Brad Bennett, Drew Edwards, Michael Flowers, Peyton Flowers and Marty Huffman.
Visitation for Mr. Flowers will be Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory.
