Michael Stanley Farrar departed for his heavenly home on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. He was born on September 24, 1962, in Amory, MS to Stanley Joe and Linda Kay Farrar. Michael was a teacher, coach, talented artist and creator, historian, and wise counselor to all who knew him. However, his favorite and most important role was as a father to his two beloved children.
After graduating from Hatley High School in 1980, Michael continued his education at Itawamba Junior College and earned an art degree from Louisiana State University. He made fond memories of Louisiana during his time there and was an avid fan of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints football teams. In addition to his love for sports and art, Michael found a passion for teaching and began a career as a teacher and coach at Nettleton School District. He also taught and coached at Hatley High School until returning to Nettleton Schools. After retiring, Michael worked with Family First of Mississippi.
In his spare time, he loved reading history and visiting historical sites and was an avid historical war gamer. Michael was very creative and spent most of his retired days painting. He was also a faithful member and elder at First Presbyterian Church of Amory.
