Melissa Hamlett

Melissa Hamlett, 42, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born July 10, 1973 in Tupelo, she was a daughter of Larry Hamlett and Peggy Hamlett. Known as having a huge heart, Melissa displayed a forgiving heart and the pride of her life was being able to spend time with her granddaughter, Olivia. She enjoyed watching movies, drinking Pepsi, and butterflies. Her other hobbies include fishing and reading. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Aberdeen First Pentecostal Church with Bro. Jason Salisbury, Bro. P.J. Mortensen, and Andrew Martin officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Survivors include her father, Larry T. Hamlett of Amory; mother, Peggy Hamlett of Amory; 3 daughters, Alison Robertson (Sam) of Hatley, Autum Person, and Amy Person both of Michigan; one brother, Larry D. Hamlett (Stacey) of Amory; one sister, Tina Hamlett-Edwards of Becker; granddaughter, Olivia Robertson; nieces, Lena Hamlett, Cheyne Hamlett, Abbie Smith, Halie Edwards, and Maggie Mae Edwards; her grandmother, Rena Hester; aunts and uncles, Herbert Springer (Nona), Jr. Hester (Linda), Danny Hester (Angie), and Debra Morris (Ricky); and other survivors include, Nell Hurley, Shane Parker, and Angel Watkins. Pallbearers will be D.J. Hester, Randall Hester, Eric Oliver, Sam Robertson, Herbert Springer, Andrew Martin, Kelly James, and Michael James. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and she will lie in state from 1 p.m .until service time on Saturday at the church.
