Mary "Becky" Ray

Mary Rebecca Owen Ray, 64, passed away at NMMC in Tupelo on June 1, 2025.  She was born on July 17, 1960 in Amory to the late Johnny E. Owen and Mary Eugene Cowart Strawbridge.  Mary was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1978.  She worked a number of years in the area garment industry and later as a regional manager for a convenience store chain.  Mary loved her job and traveled throughout the southeast.  In her younger years, she loved to bake, especially bread.  Her home would often carry the fragrance of freshly baked bread.  She also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.  Her family meant the world to her and she enjoyed the cooking for her monthly family get togethers.  She was an adoring grandmother and a faithful member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Aberdeen.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Shanna Boydstun, Tupelo and Dianna Kilgore, Aberdeen; son, David Wise (April), Vernon, AL; grandchildren, Eric Boydstun (Autumn), Dylan Boydstun, Kaitlyn Boydstun, C.J. Wise (Hannah), Mason Wise (Addie), Lily-Gianna Kilgore and Stone Bennett; great grandchildren, Beckham Boydstun, Ella Boydstun and soon to be Lainey Boydstum; sister, Frances Roberts (Monty), Amory; brothers, Mike Owen (Ginger), Amory, Steven Strawbridge (Leigh Anne), Amory and Julian Strawbridge, Amory; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her stepmother, May Owen; step father, Lealon Strawbridge; husband, Charlie Wise; brother, Houston Owen; great granddaughter, Berkley Boydstun.

A service will be held later.
