Marty Lane Lyle, 65, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on February 13, 1960 in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Milton and Elizabeth Tartt Lyle. Marty attended Amory School and proudly served in the Mississippi Army National Guard. A mechanic by trade, Marty retired from the Monroe County School District Bus Shop after 22 years of service. He was also a longtime employee and wrecker driver with Monroe Towing. Marty was a devoted family man. He married Debra Pruitt on June 14, 2025. He enjoyed metal detecting, collecting old bottles, antique cars, watching NASCAR and horror movies. If you knew Marty, you knew that you had a friend in him. He was a selfless and generous person who would give you the shirt off his back. Marty was of the Baptist faith and will be fondly remembered for his devotion and kind smile.
Marty is survived by his wife, Debra Walls Pruitt Lyle, Smithville; daughters, Emily Lyle (John Mixon), Smithville, Allison Elizabeth Lyle, Smithville and Heather Pruitt Perkins (Blake), Smithville; brother, Randy Dale Lyle (Mary), Destin, FL; sister, Sandy Lyle Tindell, Centre, AL; grandchildren, Tara Burks, Annabella Boyd, Collin Perkins, Allie Perkins, Will Perkins and Molly Perkins; mother in law, Mae Walls, Smithville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family; special friends, Chris Harris, George Aaron, Larry Clark and Roger Cadden.
Marty is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Elizabeth Lyle.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Danny Burks officiating. Burial will follow in Turon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Walls, Daniel Walls, Richard Walls, Jerry Wall, Walker Wall and Russ Walls.
Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5 PM until 8 PM.
