Martha Jane Harper

January 5, 1961 — July 4, 2025

Martha Jane Harper, age 64, of Aberdeen, Mississippi, gained her angel wings on July 4, 2025, at the Care Center in Aberdeen.

Born on January 15, 1961, Martha lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family. She worked in the furniture industry until becoming disabled in 2010. While her working years may have ended, her spirit and joy for life never did.

Martha had a deep love for the outdoors—camping, fishing, and trips to the beach brought her happiness and peace. But her true passion was children. Known affectionately as “Granny,” there was never a child who didn’t love her. Her warmth and kindness touched countless little lives, and she will be remembered for the special way she made every child feel seen and loved.

She is survived by her loving children: son Chuck Harper and daughter Tabitha Beasley (Bill); and her beloved grandchildren: Wyatt Harper, Kaiden Harper, Brailen Beasley, Brody Beasley, and Aleeya Beasley. She also leaves behind her brothers Teddy Wilson of Gulfport, MS, and Bobby Donaldson of Star City, AR; and sisters Renee Majors and Lea Ann Bradley, both of Star City, AR.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Harper; her mother, Grace Price Watkins; her mother-in-law, Geraldine Galloway; and her daughter-in-law, Kortney Harper.

The family would like to give special thanks to Martha’s best friend, Dollie Hurley. The two shared countless adventures and precious memories—“they ran them roads” together until Granny couldn’t anymore. Dollie, your love and care for our mom will never be forgotten.

Heartfelt gratitude is also extended to Kimberly Mills, her Hospice nurse, for the compassion and care she gave to Martha in her final days. Your kindness made a difference. And to everyone at the Care Center of Aberdeen—thank you. Martha truly loved being there, and the care she received brought comfort and peace to her family.

A memorial service celebrating Martha’s life will be held onSaturday, August 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Amory First Assembly.

Martha’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter, her love, and her legacy as “Granny” will never be forgotten.
