Margaret Painter

Margaret Marie Thrasher Painter, 94, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Born on May 1, 1927 in Madison, Wisconsin to Alexander and Esther Gunnison Sommer. She had lived in the Cason and Carolina Communities for the past 30 years and had worked as a cook for Country Squire.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by her two sons, G. Alan “Skip” Thrasher (Dorothy) and J. Thomas Thrasher (Sandy) both of Gilbert, AZ; two daughters, Bonnie Harris of the Carolina Community and Carolyn Brueck of Vernon Hills, IL; one brother, J.F. “Jeff” Sommer of Dodgeville, WI; sister-in-law, Mildred Krause of Stoughton, WI; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Trent Sommer; her first husband and the father of her children, George Thrasher; and husbands, Dale Douglas and Kenneth Painter.
