Leroy Gorbutt, Jr., 77, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Born July 1, 1938 in Michigan, he was a son of Leroy, Sr. and Alvina Miller Gorbutt. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a paint contractor and he was married to Mary Mitchem. He attended Cross Bound Church, and enjoyed spending much time in prayer. His hobbies included fishing and relaxing while watching television.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Aberdeen.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Gorbutt of Amory; 3 sons, Olynn A. Gorbutt and Sharon Roebuck of Orlando, FL, Olynn L. Gorbutt (Becky) of Kissimmee, FL, and Danny Morris, Jr. (Mia) of Aberdeen; two daughters, Sondra Zsigo (Frank) of Orlandon, FL, and Angel Carter (Scott) of Amory; two sisters, Wanda Moritz of Alabama and Sharon Burish of South Carolina; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a daughter, Diana Hart.
Pallbearers will be Matt Carter, J.J. Carter, Will Frederick, Greg Williams, Micthell Alred, and Richard Alred. Honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Morris.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
