Larry Grover King, 78, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at NMMC-Gilmore in Amory. He was born on January 13, 1945 in Quitman county to the late Emma Bryson. He honorably served in the United States Army. Larry retired as a boilermaker and enjoyed wood working and making jewelry. He married Reba Peppers in 1999. Larry deeply loved his family and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. A faithful Christian, Larry attended Zion Assembly in Amory.
Larry is survived by his wife, Reba King, Amory; sons, Chris King, Amory, Joey King (Nikki), Smithville, Nicholas King, Grenada, Thomas Spruill, Cleveland, Andy Spruill (Meribeth), Columbus; daughter, Candi Gray, Smithville; stepchildren, David Hall, Jr. (Glenda), Rocky Hall (Shanda)Washington and Kimberly Watson (Joe), Kentucky; brothers, Charles Whitaker, Memphis, Dale Bryson, TX; sisters, Vivian O’Brian, Illinois and Lindy Stacey (Robert, TX; 13 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend and neighbor, Gary Boyett.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by a son, Leslie King; stepson, Wesley Hall; sister, Helen Braxton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Jeff Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas Spruill, Joey King, Nicholas King, Logan Hall, David Hall and Robert Steele.
Visitation will be prior to the service on Thursday from noon until 1:45 PM.
