Our precious daddy left this life surrounded by family on October 11th. Born and raised in Arkansas, he also worked in Arkansas raising a young family when he accepted a job in Tuscaloosa. For all of those who knew him he became a devoted fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Over the years he enjoyed many football, softball, basketball and baseball games. After Tuscaloosa, he started in own business in Amory, Mississippi operating three Builders Market stores. He retired to Hamilton Alabama where he enjoyed the peaceful setting of his land with the creek flowing through it.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Gladys Hammock and sister MaryAnn Medlen. He is survived by his 4 daughters who loved him dearly – Melinda Dykes(Billy), Melanie Mullins(Terry), Donna Miller and Deanna Crim, 6 grandchildren – Joshua Murphy, Sean Dykes, Jared Dykes, Matthew Mullins, Michael Mullins, Rebecca Crim and 5 great grandchildren.
There will not be a public service, but a private family memorial as per his wishes. We are grateful to the staff of the emergency department of Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton Alabama.
We are thankful for his long life and instilling in us a hard work ethic. We will miss him for the remainder of our days.
