Karen Renee Head Adams, 51, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was born in Amory to Jake and Elaine Head. Karen attended Hatley High School and furthered her education at Itawamba Community College. She worked several years with her father at the family sawmill. She also worked at the Columbus Air Force Base. For the last 7 years, Karen was a staple at the Gas N Go in Lackey where she enjoyed visiting with her many customers who became her friends. She loved animals and enjoyed taking care of her cats, dogs and her talking bird, Buddy. Karen was an excellent cook and loved preparing food for her family and friends, especially her sausage balls and deviled eggs. Karen loved being in the outdoors tending to her yard and flowers. Karen Never met a stranger and was a friend to all she met.
Karen is survived by her parents, Jake and Elaine Head, Quincy Community; children, Bobby “Drew” Adams, Amory, Christy Mitchem (Chris), Hamilton and Sandra McDaniel (Bill), Amory; sister, Denise Rone, Amory; very special nieces, Jennifer Crippen (Corey), Guntown, Brooke Hildreth (Coby), Amory and Carrington Sample (Brian), Amory; grandchildren, Braxton and Taylor Fowlkes, Bobby and LeighAnna Adams, Aiden, Easton, Kayce and Brantley McDaniel; great nieces and nephews, Addison and Eli Crippen, Jackson and John Everett Hildreth, Emsley Sample and Layla Cockerham; special friend, Debbie Gray and her friends at Gas N Go.
Karen is preceded in death by her infant son, John Michael Taylor; cousin, Charlotte Cockerham; grandparents, Lawrence Everett and Thelma Price, Bill and Liddie Head.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral home in Amory with Pastor Rick Myers officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Crippen, Coby Hildreth, Brian Sample and Bill McDaniel.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 4 PM until 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Amory Animal Resource Center 1317 Old Hwy 6 Amory, MS 38821.
