June Frances Harlow Thompson, 88, died on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born in Monroe County on June 18, 1932 to the late Richard and Fannie Mae Cunningham Harlow. She married James Rex Thompson and retired from Red Kapp Garment Industry. She enjoyed collecting coins and reading. Having an outgoing and talkative personality, June never met a stranger and always maintained a great sense of humor, even in the tough times. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her family. She also loved her animals, especially her dog Bear. More than anything, she loved the Lord and was a member of Central Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by 2 sons, Teddie Thompson, Amory and James Edward Thompson, Huntsville; brother, Quitman “Dub” Harlow (Jerry), Aberdeen; grandchildren, Shannon Miller, Laura Camp (Anthony), Sheena McGaugh (Robert), Chris Thompson, Brittany Vaughn and Dusty Thompson (Krysti); 19 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 2 sons, Rex Allen Thompson and Freddie Thompson; granddaughter, Tiffany Vaughn; sisters, Lottie Bell Pearson, Etoy Williams and Bernice “Monk” Harlow; brothers, Richard, Ralph, Junior and Sherman Harlow.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. Burial will follow in Wren Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jared Thompson, Michael Wayne Pearson, Colbe Miller, Tyler Vaughn, Johnny Vaughn, Terry Garner, Stevie Umfress and Rickey Chaney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Harlow and Vincent Miles.
Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service from 11 AM until 12:45 PM.
