Jessie Bell Conwill, 97, died on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Riverplace Nursing Center in Amory. Born on May 30, 1921, she was a daughter to Jesse Daniel and Johnny Lee Farr Conwill. She grew up and lived in the Carolina Community until moving to Amory. Although she had none of her own, she helped raise many children and was very devoted to helping others. Miss Conwill was a member of the Carolina United Methodist Church where she was very active. She also took an active part of the Carolina Community Center and RCDC. Prior to her retirement, she worked for Amory Garment Company and was known as a master seamstress while also enjoying quilting. Miss Conwill’s family was important to her having grown up with her first cousin, Elmer Clay Conwill, having loved him like her brother and remained active with his family.
Memorial services for Miss Conwill will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Rev. Wesley Pepper and Rev. Danny Wilburn officiating. Interment will be in the Carolina Cemetery.
Survivors include her cousins, Jim Conwill, Diane Nations, Kitty Ray, Bob Conwill, Richard Conwill, Patty Phipps, Janie Jones, Mary Tate, Peter Conwill, Thomas Conwill, Ray Conwill, Johnny Conwill, Ray Conwill, Brenda Conwill, Emila Wilson, Dan King, Smokie Oswalt, and Beverly Plourd.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Beulah Mae Patterson and brother-in-law, Theo Patterson.
Visitation with the family will follow after the service.
