Jeanette Stephenson Bennett, 83, passed away on Friday, January 16th, 2026 at Charleston Place Nursing Home in Fulton, MS. She was born on July 26th, 1942 in Detroit, AL to the late IJ Stephenson and Nellie Mae Winsett Stephenson. Jeanette was married to the late Tinze Bennett. Jeanette lived in the Bethlehem community for 32 years and in Hatley for the remaining years until her stay at Charleston Place. She worked in the area garment industry and later retired from East Amory Elementary School where she worked in the lunchroom. She was a member of New Hope Church of Christ. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her very large family. She was not one to hold her tongue and you never had to guess what she was thinking. She stayed sassy and stubborn until her very last day on earth. Jeanette enjoyed going camping with her family in her earlier years, which was one of her favorite things to do. She loved to dance to the oldies and always had her music playing day and night. You could catch her reading her Bible or doing a crossword puzzle daily. Southern cooking was the highlight of her life and there is no cornbread in this world that compares to hers.
