Jason Whitaker

Jason Alan Whitaker, 46, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 in Dumfries Virginia, from injury's sustained in a tragic motorcycle accident. He was the son of Tommy and Judy Whitaker of Iuka; he lived for almost 2 years in Iuka before moving back to Virginia.

He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served for 11 years before being medically retired. His maternal grandfather was a tanker and his Dad too; he was 3^rd generation tanker in the U S Army. Jason loved following in his Dad’s footsteps, joining the Army the same month his Dad retired from the Army in 1999.

Jason enjoyed San Francisco 49ers football, video games, riding his motorcycle and being with his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife, Nayra, 5 children: Hayden, Ryan, Kyle, Jacob and Cathrynn; parents:  Tommy and Judy, his biological mother Dianna Peterson, sister, Alysha Garmer (Archie), brother Scott Pace (Linette), aunts Marsha Whitaker & Mary Sloan, uncle Mike Whitaker, 8 nieces & nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews,  numerous cousins & extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Whitaker, Kathy & Kenneth Reich, his uncles Mitchell Whitaker & Larry Sloan, aunt Donna Kay Whitaker, 1^stcousin, Randy Sloan.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory, MS with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nayra Whitaker in care of Tommy Whitaker, P O Box 461 Iuka, MS 38852

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at 2.
