Jackie Bethay Dean

Jackie Bethay Dean, 85, passed away on August 18, 2025 at the NMMC in Tupelo.  She was born in Itawamba County on June 3, 1940 to the late Melvin and Lucille Ridings Bethay.  Jackie was a graduate of Itawamba High School and worked in the area garment industry.  She was a longtime member of Bigbee Baptist Church.

Jackie is survived by her nieces, Deborah Reeves, Dorsey, Missy Sloan (Ronnie), Amory and Valerie Graham (Ben), Nettleton; brother in law's, Charles Watson, Nettleton and Gordon "Bubba" Dean, Knoxville, TN; great nieces and nephews, Brooke Reeves, Curt Reeves, Jennie Lawton (Michael), Jamie Davis (Cole), Lane Sloan (Amanda), Kim Hall (Danner), Kelly Sloan (Noah Blackburn), Joe Gurley (Sara), Austin Wilson, Katie Wilson, Dannie Graham and Stacie Stillwil.

In addition to her parents, Jackie is preceded in death by her husbands, Doug Dean and Buddy Sullivan; sisters, JoAnn Gurley and Peggy Watson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Justin Haynes officiating.  Burial will follow in New Chapel Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Curt Reeves, Joe Gurley, Ronnie Sloan, Ben Graham, James Wilson, Steve Ponder and Mike Bethay.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday from 11 AM until 1 PM.
