Icelee West

Icelee Vick West, 96, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  She was born in Monroe County, MS on June 2, 1929 to the late Eli and Alvie West Vick.  Icelee grew up in the Parham Community and began working in the cotton fields at a young age.  Along with working in the fields she helped to take care of her 10 siblings.  Icelee married Alvis West on June 16, 1943.  They were married nearly 66 years until his death in 2008.  She also worked in the area garment industry and sat with Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Hill until their deaths.  Not a stranger to hard work, Icelee got up every morning and fixed biscuits and made sure her children and husband had clean clothes to wear and a good breakfast.  She was the last one to bed each night after tending to the needs of the home.  She made so many biscuits in her life that she was affectionately known as Maw Maw Biscuit.  Icelee helped to raise several nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed cooking, taking trips to the casino, gardening and tending to her rose bush.  Just a few years ago, Icelee went on the trip of her lifetime to Las Vegas and fondly remembered it until her death.  She was a member of Aberdeen Pentecostal Church.

Icelee is survived by her daughters, Lois Ann Herron, Becker, Margaret Hacker (Robert), Becker and Rita Stanford, Mooreville; 20 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and close friend, Evelyn Sherrell.

In addition to her parents and husband, Icelee is preceded in death by 2 sons, Bobby and Eugene West; grandchildren, Mike Mann and Rhonda Dangerfield; great grandson, Bryan Mann; 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Rev. Jamie Terry officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Cody Stanford, Dean Mann, Eli Reed, Richard Reed, Mark Pace and Ray Morris.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 12 PM until 2 PM.
