William Grady Baker, 93, of Bartahatchie Community passed away on July 13, 2023 in Columbus, MS.  He will be greatly missed, but we know he is in a far better place.  Grady was born in Greenwood Springs, MS on May 12, 1930, the only son of Oliver and Myrtle West Baker.  He graduated from Greenwood Springs School.  He served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a radio mechanic.  Grady and Johnnie moved to Miami Springs after he was honorably discharged from the Air Force.  In Miami, he worked as a radio mechanic for Pan American World Airways and Eastern Airlines for over 30 years.

Grady and Johnnie returned “home” after retirement and built their home in Bartahatchie.  There they were very active in the Bartahatchie community and at their church, Bartahatchie Baptist.  Grady enjoyed helping others in whatever way he could.
