Garon Dale Roby “Roby” known as the area pork skin guy was always the life of the party. He was born on February 6, 1962, in Tupelo, Mississippi. He graduated from IAHS in 1980. He worked at Red Lobster for several years where he was known for his awesome personality as the top waiter. He worked for his dad also. He moved to Destin, Florida and lived there for around 14 years. He drove one of the most popular antique cabs where he met lots of celebrities. He moved back home around 7 years ago and worked for Amy Jones at The Respiratory and Diabetes Care Center. He loved to go in and out of homes and put smiles on the elder’s faces. Then he became the pork skin man and the mater man. He met special friends at Evergreen Grocery and Piggly Wiggly in Amory. This man was an awesome cook. He loved to put a smile on anyone’s face. His passion was music, cooking, and being with his family. He loved to play cards with his favorite game being Rook. He loved to entertain. He played Santa to the kids of Amory. He was an avid Alabama fan “Roll Tide Roby.” He loved his family so much. He always wanted everyone together making memories. He loved his grandbabies so much. He would always tell them funny stories that would have them rolling. He loved going to the Amory Auction where he had a lot of sweet friends. He loved Bill and Jim’s, now the Friendship House and was a regular customer at the Longhorn and Country Squire. He also loved his Knight’s restaurant and El toro where everyone knew chips and salsa was his favorite. He loved to fish and to go to the Nettleton Clubland. He had a kind heart and would give you the shirt off his back. Those that knew Roby knows that he was one of a kind. He was always positive no matter what the situation was. We love you very much Roby. You probably already have that red tent up selling pork skins. Now he would say go on and make a lifetime of memories and see ya later Sugar! “Sugaaa” But most important thing he received Jesus as his personal savior as a child. We can only imagine him seeing his grandmother, Eva Roby’s face and I’m sure him and his daddy Jimmy Dale are playing music together, Farther Along We’ll Know All About It.
