Frank Smith, Jr., 77, passed away at Mississippi Care Center in Corinth on June 24, 2025. He was born on October 14, 1947 in Amory to the late Frank Smith, Sr. and Glyn Iris Milstead Smith. Frank was a graduate of Hatley High School and earned an associate degree from Itawamba Junior College. He married Cynthia Wardlaw in 1974. Frank honorably served in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam, receiving numerous decorations and medals, including the Purple Heart for injuries sustained from enemy fire. Frank worked on the Tenn Tom Waterway during construction. He later worked as an electrician, HVAC tech and a long haul truck driver. He enjoyed repairing appliances. More than anything, he enjoyed his family, especially being with his grandchildren. Frank was a faithful and devoted member of North Boulevard Christian Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He attended church every time the door was opened and was also faithful to keep the church grounds mowed and manicured. Most recently he enjoyed watching westerns and Fox News.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Leslie Gray, Amory and Tracy Smith (Robert), Wren; sons, Frank Smith, III (Sara), Tupelo and Brian Smith, Amory; sister, Susie Seay (Bobby), FL; grandchildren, Jacob Dykes (Christine), Joshua Dykes, Brianna Gray, Konner Smith and Andrew Smith; great grandchildren, Jameson Dykes, Emma Drew Dykes, Tripp Dykes, Haygen Wren Dykes, Greyson Dykes, Gunner Dykes, Liam Dykes, Sispey Flurry, Wylder Flurry and Swayse Logan; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Earl Capps.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Smith; grandson, Jarrett Dykes.
Funeral Services with military honors will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Kraig Burchfield officiating. Burial will follow in Amory Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Dykes, Joshua Dykes, Konner Smith, Andrew Smith, Zachary Cooke, Garrett Cooke, Tyler Miller and Clint Parish. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Capps and Bob Borcicky.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday from 12 PM until 2 PM.
