Eric Johnson

John Eric Johnson, 40, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the NMMC.  Eric was born in Amory on May 24, 1985 to Steven Johnson and Cindy Kyle England.  He attended Amory High School.  Eric loved all animals, especially dogs and enjoyed working with animals in his younger years.  Eric had a love and passion for music.  At a very young age he was taught a few chords on the guitar by his grandfather and from there, he became an exceptional and talented musician.  Music brought great joy to Eric's life and he enjoyed playing with his band.  He also enjoyed cooking, especially for his family.  Eric never met a stranger and loved everyone.

He is survived by his mother, Cindy England (Don), Amory; father, Steve Johnson, Iuka; grandparents, Flora Kyle, Amory, Nelson and Bess Johnson, Iuka; aunts and uncles, Johnny Paul Kyle, Amory, Kathi Thompson (Billy), Wren, Roger Kyle (Crissy), Mooreville, Tim Johnson, Amory, Jimmy Johnson (Teresa), Becker and Angie Coldwell (Kenny), Timbo, AR; a host of cousins and friends.

Eric is preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnny Kyle; uncle, Phillip Brewer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Nelson Johnson and Bro. Ray Osborn.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 PM until 2 PM.
