Emma Jean White, 77, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Diversicare in Amory. Born December 27, 1939 in Aberdeen, she was a daughter to Salis Jefferson and Loy V. Britt Phillips. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked as hotel manager for Holiday Inns in Starkville and Greenville. Never meeting a stranger, she enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with friends, and working. Always on the go, her hobbies included going to garage sales. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Minister Jimmy McNeese officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Aberdeen.
Survivors include her son, Andy White of Hernando, FL; grandchildren, Crystal Jones of New Albany, Joey Miller of Amory, Andrew Michael White of Amory, and Scotty Theunissen of Leland, MS; great grandchildren, Mitchell Barnes, Aleah Beasley, and Issy White; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jeff Phillips; and two sisters, Onnie P. Calcote and Mary Dean Phillips.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
