Ellis Dove Reeves, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. She was born on July 21, 1943, in Detroit, Alabama, to the late Charlie and Viola Dove.
Ellis was a proud graduate of Hatley High School and a faithful member of Hamilton Baptist Church. She lived a life marked by creativity, service, and devotion to her family and church community.She had a deep love for flowers and took great joy in creating beautiful floral arrangements. Known as a master bow-maker, Ellis could turn simple ribbon into something extraordinary. She was also an exceptional cook and homemaker, always making sure those around her felt welcomed and well cared for. For more than 50 years, Ellis worked as a professional seamstress, a trade she truly loved and excelled in. Her talent, patience, and attention to detail were evident in every piece she created. She also enjoyed decorating for holidays and church showers, generously sharing her gifts to bring beauty and warmth to every celebration.
The family extends a special thank you to the Reed Greenhouse staff at Traceway Retirement Community and to Gentiva Hospice for their outstanding care, compassion, and support during Ellis’s final days. Ellis will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, strong work ethic, and the love she poured into everything she did. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the beauty she created throughout her life.
Ellis is survived by her Husband, Ray Reeves of Amory; Daughters, Tina Crevitt of Caledonia, Connie Fowlkes (Jamie) of Amory; Sister, JoAnn Tubb (Doyle) of Amory; Sister in Law, Martha Dove of Tupelo; Granddaughter, Jamie Tipton of Maggie Valley, NC; Nieces, Tammy Martin (Tracy) of Amory, Tracy Dove Lester (James) of Caledonia; Great Nephew, Dawson Martin of Amory; Special Friend, Judy Brumley.
She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father; Brothers, Charles Dove and Carl Dove; Sister in Law Judy Dove.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 3, 2026 at 12 p.m. at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Robert Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. until the service hour.
The family ask all donations to be made to Traceway Retirement Community in her memory in lieu of flowers.
