Donnie Barnes

Donnie Harold Barnes, 54, of Nettleton, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Donnie was born on March 8, 1972, and was a lifelong resident of Nettleton and attended Shannon Church of Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. Donnie was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and hardworking nature. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and cared deeply for the people around him.

Donnie shared a lifetime of love and memories with his wife, Amy Gail Barnes. The two began dating in November of 1987 and were married on May 1, 1993. Together they built a life centered around love, family, and dedication to one another.

Donnie loved spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, and making memories with the people he loved most. He will be remembered as a truly good man — loving, dependable, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his family.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him most.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amy Gail Barnes; daughter, Candace Paige West and husband Wayne West; son, Jaxon Barnes; and his beloved grandchildren, Kolden West, Cabela West, Delta West, and Skylie West, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Bobby Barnes; Son, Tyler Barnes; Sister, Mary Janice.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Beam officiating and burial to follow in Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cory Ball, Caleb Bullard, Gary Stafford, Glenn Barnes, Shawn Dickerson, Cade Cook.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12-2 p.m.
