Tressa Diane Taylor Motes, 73, passed away, alongside her son , Jamie Tomlin on October 2, 2026 as the result of an automobile accident.  Diane was born in Smithville on April 16, 1953 to Theron and Avolene Taylor.  She attended Smithville School and later earned her LPN degree from Itawamba Community College.  Diane worked for several years in the labor and delivery at Gilmore Memorial Hospital.  After she left the hospital, she worked at the Evergreen Clinic.  Diane loved people with such a love that would make you think you'd know her your entire life.  Her love for others was selfless, giving and caring, that truly exemplified loving your neighbor as yourself as taught by Christ.  Diane never met a stranger and cared for many sick and elderly people throughout her life.  Described as a Godly woman who loved God with her whole heart, Diane was a member of Made For More Ministries in Plantersville.  

Diane is survived by her daughter and son in law she said she never had but loved as her own, Melissa and Scott Simonson, Amory; daughters in law, Brandi Tomlin, Nettleton and Kristen Bunn (Steve); son she raised as her own, Dominic Muhlenbruck, Smithville; grandchildren, Lexi Simonson, Dayton Tomlin, Braxton Tomlin, Madilyn Allred, Charles Tomlin Bunn, Emma Kate Bunn and Danielle Barrett; a host of friends she dearly loved.

In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by her son, Jamie Tomlin.

Funeral Services for Diane and Jamie will be held at 3 PM on Monday, October 5 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Martin, Bro. Kevin Malone, Sister Shea Malone, Bro Steve Bunn and Bro. Vincent Hayes officiating.  Burial will follow in New Chapel Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Dewayne Rinehart, Scott Simonson, Steve Bunn, Dominic Muhlenbruch, Samson Buckner and Chris Holley.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday from 1 PM until 3 PM.
