March 19, 1969 — October 20, 2022

Smithville

Christopher Ray Stephenson, 53, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center—Gilmore in Amory.  Born in Amory on March 19, 1969, he was the son of Danny and Teresa Foster Stephenson.  He attended school in Smithville and graduated high school in Lampasas, TX.  Chris was a man of many talents and according to his motto, he could fix anything, a talent he learned while he worked with his father.  He worked for the Clark family since 1994 and most recently as a talented and experienced mechanic for the Clark Ford dealership.  Chris like to play guitar, play basketball with his daughter, riding 4-wheelers and every now and then would go explore old historic graveyards with his wife.  In addition, he enjoyed boating, tubing, and camping and every chance he got he watched his son coach football.  Often, the child withing himself came out when he was with his grandchildren, and he would create and invent their imaginations all the while making memories for them to cherish.  He loved to pick on his daughter-in-law and discuss ongoing projects with his son-in-law and he was proud of the fact he was able to restore his great grandfather’s 1964 Plymouth.  He was generous and big-hearted and always willing to help someone in need never expecting anything in return.  A man of great faith, he was a member of the Smithville Church of Christ where he led singing and was an integral part of church fellowshipping.  Chris Stephenson left a mark on the world that only a few do, but his legacy will be honored through the lives of his children and grandchildren.
