Charlie Ray Hurley, 89 died on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the River Place Nursing Center in Amory. Born on July 16, 1926 in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of John and Susie Steele Pate. She married Grady Lee Hurley and he later died in 1967. Known for her independence, she was a homemaker and provider for her family while also working as a seamstress at Amory Garment Company. Her hobbies include flower and vegetable gardening. She was a Christian.
Services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bobby Cleveland officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Hurley (Judy) of Hatley and Ronald Hurley of Amory; two sisters, Johnnie Mae Ital and Elois Giernoth; 7 grandchildren, Michael Hurley, Grady Hurley, Susie Quinn, Peggy Hurley, Paulette Gutierrez, Deanirae Beck, and Becky Hurley; and 8 great grandchildren, Austin Hurley, Anna Addison Hurley, Banna Robinson, Renae Gutierrez, Cristina Gutierrez, Chance Beck, Hannah George, and Devan George.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Roger Hurley; one daughter, Judy Posey; 3 brothers, Lecil, Aklas, and Frank Pate; and 4 sisters, Eugenia Smith, Etah McMickin, Euple Watkins, and Enola Powell.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hurley, Grady Hurley, Austin Hurley, Terry McMickin, Scot Hurley, Josh Hurley, and Devan Hurley.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
