Chance Foster

March 24, 2003 — January 8, 2018

Amory- Bobby Chance “Bubba” Foster, 14, died on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the LeBonheur Hospital in Memphis. Chance was born on March 24, 2003 in Jackson to Bobby Lee Foster and Kerri Jo Jackson Guyton. Prematurely born at 28 weeks, he had an uphill climb, enduring two heart surgeries and countless doctor visits always remaining optimistic with a good attitude while his goal was to encourage others and thinking of their needs. In the midst of physical adversity, he was an athlete playing T-ball and flag football. Chance loved all kinds of music but especially enjoyed listening to country music with his grandfather and looked forward to their time on Sundays. It was with him he learned to mechanic and having an ingenious mind he was fascinated with how things work; however while trying to learn to drive, Chance wrecked 3 vehicles in the front yard. He was a whiz with computers and he will be fondly remembered as smiling and eager to learn. It was this smile that could light up a classroom and he would smile even if he was in trouble. Proud of his accomplishments, he was currently a member of the freshman class at Amory High School. Chance was a member of the Amory Kiwanis Builder’s Club and epitomized its core values of character building, leadership, inclusiveness, and caring. While in the Builder’s Club, he often volunteered at First Friends, worked on many service projects in Kiwanis, helped at local nursing homes, and he was the 2017 Citizenship Award winner. An avid MSU Bulldog fan, he was also very sociable and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Church of God and had been attending the Open Door Worship Center in Fulton. Funeral services for Chance will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Shane Ray, Bro. Stanley Blaylock, and Mr. Kenny Goralczyk officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
