Carmen Alexis Steele, 18, passed away on March 17, 2023 at her home and now walking free and whole. She was born on December 2, 2004 in Columbus. Carmen was not supposed to live past 7, but through God’s grace and strength, she beat all the odds and even though she lost her mobility at age 8, this did not stop Carmen. She received multiple surgeries in her life which she smiled through them all, met them with great faith and courage, and would even flirt with the male doctors and nurses. Carmen loved being a big sister and having her own sense of mischief she liked nothing more than to get her sisters in trouble. Her personality was as bright as the sun, and she had a laugh that would brighten anyone’s day. Her beautiful soul touched everyone in ways that very few can. Being a daddy’s girl, she was a great burst of energy and some of her favorite times were spent in her favorite recliner snuggled with her blanket watching Hallmark movies, Hannah Montana curled up with her mother, or watching her sisters dance.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Rodney Waycaster officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service time. Everyone is asked to wear bright, colorful clothes in keeping with Carmen’s bright and vibrant personality.
