Amory

Betty Lou Hubbard, 74, of Amory, Mississippi passed away at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo on March 2, 2026. She was born in Roseland, Louisiana, on August 14, 1951, to the late John W. and Lucille Mae Cannon Turner.

Betty Lou married the love of her life, Jim Hubbard on February 4, 2003. You rarely saw Betty without Jim by her side. Together they enjoyed eating out at local restaurants and spending evenings watching crime mysteries such as Matlock, Elsbeth and NCIS. Betty had a deep passion for antiquing and thrifting. She also loved remodeling her homes, reading, listening to different music genres, and singing--even though she often joked she couldn’t carry a tune.

Her favorite time of year was Thanksgiving, when she loved preparing her famous chicken and dressing with all the trimmings. Betty loved her family deeply as well as her puppies, Doodie Bug and Pretty Boy.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Hubbard; her son, Matthew Minor along with his children: Jordan, Taryn, Tristian, Jayden and Damien. Greatgrandchildren Locke and Brayden Minor; her daughter, Jessica Powers and son-in-law, Eric Powers, along with their children, Gavin Michael, Austin Hawkins, Aiden Powers and Isaiah Powers.

Additional survivors include her sister, Linda Kessler; sister-in-law, Michelle Turner; as well as nieces and nephews: Olivia Childers (Brady), Kristina Conwill, Frank Kessler (Jennifer) and Laura Gentile (Lee).

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brother, John Wesley Turner.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
