Annie Mae Young Aaron, 67, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on October 7, 1958 in Monroe County to the late John and Jeffie Mae Young. Annie was a graduate of Smithville High School. She retired after a long career at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. After retirement, Annie continued to keep busy working various jobs. She had a deep abiding love for God and his Word and attended Cathedral of New Beginnings. Annie had a personality that would light up any room she went in. She was always showing kindness, compassion and love to those she knew and to complete strangers alike. Annie loved to sing, travel and spend time with Denise who was like a sister to her. Annie was also a devoted mother to Jason and was always proud of his accomplishments. Annie will be remembered and loved dearly by all who knew her.
Annie is survived by her son, Jason Young (Julia), Brandon, MS; sisters, Peggy Washington, Smithville and Jayn Williams (Ted) Farmington Hill, MI; grandson, Seth Young, Okolona; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Denise Faulkner.
In addition to her parents, Annie is preceded in death by 6 siblings.
A Celebration of Annie’s Life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Rev. Lesley Mabry, Rev. James Friend, Rev. Charles Young, Rev. Stevie McKinney, Rev. Frank Bates and Rev. Price Watkins officiating. Pallbearers will be Evan Adams, Josh Pickle, Anthony Thornton, Jeffrey Ware, Jr., Kaylan Washington and Phillip Faulkner.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 11 AM until 12:45 PM.
