Joseph Andrew "Andy" Adams, 60, passed away at his residence in Caledonia on Saturday, June 6, 2026. He was born in Amory on May 20, 1966 to Eugene and Linda Kilburn Adams. Andy was a graduate of Hamilton High School, Class of 1984 and worked as a welder for Thompson Welding. From a young age, Andy found the peace and tranquility of the outdoors to his liking and ever since he has always enjoyed being in the woods hunting or on a creek or river bank fishing. At 7 years old, he killed a 6 foot rattlesnake with a stick that was trying to get one of his cats that he loved dearly. From then on he was know as the snake man. On a cold morning, 20 years ago, Andy had an automobile accident that would leave him paralyzed and confined to a wheel chair. Andy did not let that stop him for one second. It may have made things a little more challenging for him, but his love for his family, life and the outdoors allowed him to overcome any obstacle that came his way. Andy passionately loved life and it was his resilience and maybe just a tad of his stubborn nature that kept him going every day. Although never having children of his own, he adored his nieces and nephews, always keeping the catfish pond stocked to share his love of fishing with them and anyone else that wanted to fish. He loved his cats, especially the one named Josey Wales. Andy was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church and will be remembered for years for his can do attitude and unwillingness to let an accident stand in his way.
Andy is survived by his devoted mother, Linda Kilburn Adams Stanford, Caledonia; brothers, Anthony "Tony" Adams, Caledonia and Tim Adams (Patricia), Amory; nieces, Toni Michelle Summers (Nathan) and Kelci Morton (A.J.); nephew, Cody Adams; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; special friends, Boyd and Judy Duncan.
