Amie Lou Cates Stacy, 76, passed away on August 27, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born in Joiner, Arkansas on September 4, 1948 to the late Buford and Thelma Cates. She was a homemaker, and a long time member of Amory Church of God of Prophecy. She married her soulmate, Thomas Stacy, in April 1969. She was witty and the family jokester. She enjoyed being outdoors on her swing making memories, sharing stories, and having prayer with her family. She was always radiant with a big smile on her face. She fought so courageously against stage 3 breast cancer in 2022 and stage 4 pancreas cancer in 2025. When anyone came to her needing advice or prayers, she always ended the conversation with her life motto “where there is a will, there is a way”.
Visitation will be Saturday August 30 from noon until 2 pm with Funeral Services following at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro Doug Lucas officiating. Burial will be at Haughton cemetery.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her daughter Linda Fulton (Danny) of Amory, son, Adam Stacy (Rachel) of Columbus; grandchildren, Tyler Fulton (Sarah) of Hatley, Amber Forsyth (Thomas) of Jackson, TN, Madelyn Stacy and Hunter Stacy of Columbus; great grandchild, Caroline Fulton of Hatley; brothers, Terry Cates, Larry Cates; sisters, Janie Rock (Edward), Hazel Allen (Ronnie), Suzie Thompson all of Amory and a host of nieces and nephews.
