Alton S. Fisher, 81, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025 at his home in Amory, Mississippi, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 20, 1943 in Lebanon, TN, to Alton S. Fisher and Ocie Jewell [Christian] Fisher. Alton lived a life marked by his love for his family and a passion for golf.
Alton was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He shared a loving marriage of 32 years with his surviving spouse, Terry Elaine [Weaver] Fisher. He leaves behind their children: Lisa D. King, Chad [Shea] King, Stephanie [Kirk] [Fisher] Beckett, and Amy K. [Joey] [Fisher] Langston-Vegerano. He also delighted in his grandchildren: Katie [Sam] Anzuini, Taylor [Jared] Johnson, Christopher Beckett, Katherine Beckett, Macgregor Langston, and great-grandson Casey Jagger Johnson. He was very close with his brother, Gary [Brenda] Fisher of Smyrna, TN.
Before his love affair of golf began with his brother, Alton had a passion for softball and was an excellent pitcher and strong hitter. He often played in leagues and was a high-scorer. He had a beautiful singing voice he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was saved at a Billy Graham Crusade with his mother when he was 12.
He graduated from Antioch High School in 1961. At 17, he served in the Air Force as a Radar Technician during the Vietnam War. There he realized that if he was going to get anywhere in life, he was going to need an education. So, he was very grateful to come home and use the GI Bill to earn a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University. He also completed the Executive Development Program at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and earned a Master of Business Administration at Jacksonville University. He became a Chief Financial Officer at various hospitals over his successful career. He and his wife spent their well-earned retirement traveling to world-famous golf courses and enjoying their home course with friends at Bentwater Yacht and Country Club in Montgomery, Texas.
Private services will be held.
