“FUZZY” STEVE ALTOM Family and friends please join us for the Celebration of Life for “Fuzzy” Steve Altom Saturday September 1, 2018 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Doty Chapel Baptist Church; 234 Shackelford; Shannon, MS 38868. officiating will be Pastor Brian Daniels with Dan Rogers, guest speaker. Following this celebration Doty Chapel Church family is preparing a luncheon. August 4, 2018 Steve began his eternal journey. He leaves his wife of 37 years, Sheree, Grandson Hayden Jones and Granddaughter Zoey Sloan. His daughter, Jessica Altom Jones, began her eternal journey November 25, 2012. His Stepson, Randy Gray, began his eternal journey April 24, 2016. He is also survived by his mother, many dear friends, aunts, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Steve was born in Lee County to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Altom and in addition to his father; he was preceded in death by his loving paternal grandparents, Naub and Jetty Altom and his loving maternal grandparents, Mel and Irene Lauderdale. He was employed by CED of Tupelo for 25 years in outside sales, taking much pride in his job and working for this company also making many friends and acquaintances along the way. Steve was a powerful hunter, with a passion for deer and turkey. He was taught to hunt deer at the early age of 8 by his loving Paw Altom. He shared many adventures they had together and also shared many stories of his love for his Maw Jetty. He also had many fond memories at his Paw Mel and Maw Irene's house with his cousins. He shared his time and hunting skills with his wife, Sheree, his daughter Jessica, Grandson Hayden and had just begun hunting with his Granddaughter Zoey. He was a great teacher! Steve was also a talented fisherman, with many stories to tell about his adventures with his fishing buddies. Steve will be greatly missed!
